SARCOMA AWARENESS MONTH

🎗️ A Global Call to Action

Every July, the global sarcoma community comes together for Sarcoma Awareness Month — a dedicated time to raise awareness, foster connection, and advocate for earlier diagnosis, better care, and more equitable access to treatment for all affected by sarcoma.

Sarcomas are rare and complex cancers that often go unnoticed or are misdiagnosed. Delayed recognition can lead to advanced disease, fewer treatment options, and worse outcomes. That’s why awareness saves lives — and why every voice matters.

Led by SPAGN and supported by patient organizations around the world, Sarcoma Awareness Month is more than a campaign — it’s a movement. Each year, we rally around a central theme, provide tools for advocacy, and create space for sharing stories, insights, and action.

đź’ˇ Why It Matters

  • Sarcoma symptoms are often subtle or misinterpreted.

  • Early and accurate diagnosis increases survival and improves quality of life.

  • Most people – including healthcare providers – know little about sarcoma.

  • Global disparities in diagnosis and care remain a major challenge.

Explore each year’s campaign to discover how we’re taking action — and how you can join.

Together, we can build a world where sarcoma is recognized early, treated effectively, and no one is left behind.

🌍 Planning Ahead: Sarcoma Awareness Month 2026

We’re already looking ahead to Sarcoma Awareness Month 2026 — and this time, we’re starting with a community-wide brainstorming session to shape the campaign together.

During the session, the SPAGN team will share key insights and results from this year’s campaign, followed by an open discussion to define the theme and direction for 2026.

This is an opportunity for member organizations to contribute ideas for global campaign themes and coordinated activities that can help amplify our collective impact.
